About Don Siebel
Welcome
I have been very fortunate to live in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest most of my life. I became interested in photography through a Community College Class a number of years ago, but I am pretty much self-taught.
I have been a Hiker and Backpacker in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon and Washington for the last 30 years, although a little slower now. I love to take photos while on these ventures into the mountains. The Pacific Northwest coastline is another amazing place for photographing. Add all that to a wonderful family, our beautiful flower garden kept up by my wife, plus some travel, and I have more opportunities than I can imagine to take photos.
Each of my photographs represents a memory for me. I am a firm believer that photographs are memories of a time and of a place. To me and to others they may be the only photograph of that place at that time. I do not know of a photographer that cannot look at one of their photos and say where, why and when they took it.
